Four Levels of The Brave Little Parrot
1.LITERAL COMPREHENSION :
This beautiful story taken from Buddhist Legend, describes the glorious achievement of the brave little parrot.

once Gautama Buddha was born as a little parrot . one day his forest home caught fire due to storm.the lighting and thunder burst into flames and soon the wide spread Sparks set the whole forest ablaze. terrified animals ran here and there seeking safety from the Flames and smoke . the parrot also flew to the river but while flying higher, he noticed that many animals were trapped by fire clearly, there was no chance of escape. the little parrot decided to save his animal friends. he flew to river , dipped himself into river water and flew back to the forest. he shook his body and Sprinkle few drops of water over the raging fire. The heat was unbearable & the smoke made it difficult to breath . he flew to river and released few drops of water again and again even if his attempted seemed to tired. he continued his job tirelessly regardless of pain. his feathers charred, feet schorched, lungs ached , eyes turned red as burning coal and mind spun dizzily. but he sealessly continues his task.

At that time some Gods where floating over in the clouds. they saw the little parrot futile effort. They thought the bird was foolish and made mockery of him. however moved by bird's effort one god disguised himself as a golden eagle and flew down. he suggested the parrot to go somewhere to save his life before it was too late. But the parrot turned deaf ear to the Eagle. since the Eagle repeatedly to tell him to stop the activity, the parrot answered that he needed help not advice. The God influenced by the parrot determination and selfless service. he felt ashamed and realised the meanness of his friends who were laughing above while innocent animal where crying out in pain and fear. he decided to help the little parrot and began to cry. his tears fell upon the Fire like a stream and the fire was put out. all the burnt animals and plants were restored to previous normal life and condition. The drop fallen on the parrot made him colourful and bright. all the animal look at the each other in amazement the sky was cleared. and they saw the brave little parrot soaring in delight. all the animals honored for his bravery and thanked the miraculous rain.
2.INTERPRETATION :
This story is basically about one sense of duty towards home and fellow begins. when the fire broke out, the parrot could have been selfish and run away to save his life . but instead  he was overcome by the sense of duty to save his home and friends. IR respected of his pain, he fulfill his duty. similarly it is about the significance of willpower, courage and determination. the story might have tired to import the lesson that one should not lose hope in critical situation.
3.CRITICAL THINKING :
Although the story is very impressive with great moral lessons, many points are less convincing. it says Buddha was born as a little parrot. is such recarnation is possible? Are there God in the sky? Do they come down to help us in our troubles? How can an Eagle's tears can take the form of stream? Moreover it creates the controversial idea about the god. we believe that god is always good and helpful. how could other God remain laughing while the animals were in pain? Can they be so carefree?
4.ASSIMILATION :
After reading this story, I recalled an incident which took place in my village. there was a young boy who saved an old and helpless women's life. five years ago when I was going to my uncle's house, I saw a crowd at the bank of river. I want closer and saw a woman who was diving into the river by struggling for her life and death. suddenly, young boy jumped into the river and took her out from the water. she was in an unconscious state. later on, she opened her eyes and we thanked him heartily  for his courageous work. this event also made me feel to help needy people.
