Contributing Disciplines to the field of Organizational Behaviour (OB)

Various behavioural disciplines have contributed to the establishment of Organizational Behaviour (OB). The major contributors of Organizational behaviour(OB) are:
1.Psychology
2.Sociology
3.Social Psychology
4.Anthropology
5.Political science etc.

Let's discuss separately about all the contributors of organizational behaviour (OB).

1. Psychology
Psychology is the science that study the human and animal behaviour. Organizational behaviour inherited Learning, Motivation, perception, personality, attitude, emotion, job satisfaction, work stress etc. from the psychology. It basically studies the behaviour related to the individual. It helps to manager to understand and predict the behaviour of employee and can help to change their behaviour to achieve the organizational goal.

2. Sociology
Sociology is the science of society. It basically studies the people in-relation to the environment and culture. It studies how the behaviour of an individual is affected by his/her society and surroundings. Organizational Behaviour inherited Organizational culture, organizational structure, organizational change, power and politics, organizational communication etc. from the sociology. It helps to understand how fast the people  take the decision within the group.

3. Social Psychology
Social psychology is inherited from sociology and psychology. It studies the influence of people on one another. It is more related to group behaviour. Organizational behaviour inherited group decision making, communication, behaviour change, attitude change, group processes etc. from the social psychology.

4. Anthropology
Anthropology is the study of the behaviours of people which are learned from their society and culture. It helps to understand how the cultural factors affect the behaviour of people.  Organizational behaviour inherited Cross cultural analysis, organizational culture, comparative values, comparative attitudes, power, organizational environment etc. from the anthropology.

5. Political Science
Political science is the study of behaviour of individuals and groups in a political environment. It is necessary to understand how the employees of the organization affected by power and politics within the organization. It is also necessary to understand how an individual or group behave within a certain political situation within the organization. Organizational behaviour inherited conflict, intra-organizational conflict, power etc. from the political science.
